“I liked the idea of making a gift for this holiday, for the Jamendians listeners who love jazz, and there are many.
To make album in collaboration. To bring together in a project, the friends on Jamendo that playing Jazz, in its different articulation: Jazz, Blues, Fusion with raid into Latin music.
I think that this type of album is useful to the promotion of Creative Commons music and the artists who publish under this license, as an opportunity to meet, even for future collaborations. In the spirit of sharing that animates all those who provide their creations avalaible freely.”

Jazz Friend 2011 is the first album of the project Creative Workshop.
20 musicians united in 12 pieces with a variegated range of styles of jazz derivation.
From the most classic jazz up to pure fusion, is the description and the perception of this genre, seen from different angles.

Jazz Friends 2012
The Jazz Friends together again.
Old friends and new friends came together to make this album that continues the exploration of jazz and blues, its contamination, blending with other genres. The result is a varied and colorful landscape of that, more than any other, is instinctive music, improvisation, by their own feelings.
Numerous collaborations this time, a distinctive feature of those who make music in the Creative Commons. Share projects, music, experiences.
Also this year we have with us the young Stefano Mocini, this time under the expert guidance of an highly experienced Jazzman, Robert Daglio. The passion that is showing for this music genre, I must admit, fills me with satisfaction, Stefano was very good.
They are this year represented 6 countries (Spain, Croatia, France, Belgium, Germany and Italy) with 21 musicians and 16 songs.

Summer Jazz 2012
Summer appointment with JAZZ FRIENDS.
This time with even more collaborations.
In fact, we preferred to reduce a bit the number of tracks and increase the collaborations, as it is in the spirit of Jazz Friends, which must also be a meeting point between artists, new experiences, exchange of knowledge.
As usual there are old friends that you remember from Jazz Friends 2012, David KBD and José GDF, very welcome return Mokrane Akim Gilles and Mauro Marangoni, and our young Stefano Mocini, this time in collaboration with Rossy, the beautiful guitar of Stone Pillow.
Great return of Tracing Arcs (Fran’s voice is always better, if that’s possible) and Liquid Frame. Newcomer Carlos der Eisbar with a blues.
Mention apart for a duo that has made me much pleasure to have in this album: Jac & Michka, JAC is now a veteran, but for Michka, I had to pull off all my arts diplomatic to convince him to participate, he is a singer in a gospel choir, who else could sing a blues so classic as “Me and the Devil Blues”? This blues is part of the history of music of Robert Johnson, blues guitarist and vocalist of Mississippi, who died in 1938 aged 27.
In short, we have spent the usual passion, the usual fun, the same desire to be together,
you enjoy the result.

Jazz Friends 2013 – Guitars in Jazz
With this album we begin the third year of the project Jazz Friends and fifth of the series.
Let’s begin it in a different date, on February 14 and for the first time the album has a name “Guitars in Jazz.”
They will be the guitars to tell around the jazz and the blues, that they are acoustic or electric, you will hear that variety of atmospheres, of rhythms, of interpretations!
The time has not faded the enthusiasm and the desire to play together, have fun with the music, to share with others, rather has strengthened the spirit that has begun this adventure two years ago.
The opening of the album is all French, given to my friend Philippe Mangold, so elegant and fine but also joyful.

Welcome back to Lino Del Vecchio back from bringing Italian jazz, its jazz, to the House of Blues in Chicago.
As always Marco Leopardi (Cosoid3.5) deserves a special mention, every time I’m curious to know what strange thing he used in his blues, apart of course his beautiful guitar, the harmonica and the abundant Tuscan cigar smoke, well this time we also have:
a bottle (fiasco) of red wine, anti-stress balls, an Indian rattle, Swedish matches, a cheese grater.
Do you feel flutter the smell of cigar also on the dusty, on the road blues of Thorwald Odin, but here is the dust of the streets of Piedmont.

Autumn Leaves 2013
A jazz in autumn, that as the leaves , still has heat and colors of summer.
Here then AUTUMN LEAVES, the second realease of 2013 of the project JAZZ FRIENDS.
All colors of jazz with a sprinkled of blues.
You will find unchanged the good mood , the desire to share, the desire to have a good time together.
This year two beautiful collaborations :
New City Lounge, sees together Stefano Mocini , who continues to walk the difficult road of jazz , this time with Liquid Frame and its original winding electronic sounds together give rise to a jazz funky , a wild rhythm that moves your feet .
Soft Life , the only song sung , this time Lino del Vecchio, accompanied by the inseparable Pino Pasquali, can count on the beautiful voice of Valentina Frizza to give a sensual touch to his song.
And then old friends :
Roberto Daglio opens the album with a title that is a promise , Urban Rapidity , rhythm at will.
Welcome back Jean Marc Corvisier ( Jaz ) and his perfect guitar jazz that creates a sophisticated and elegant ambience : Sunbeam Fantasy.

But later you can relax with David Kbd : Looking Back and think of summer.

Spring Flowers 2014

Siamo arrivati oggi ad inaugurare il quarto anno del progetto Jazz Friends e il settimo album: Spring Flowers, Fiori di primavera, undici brani, undici fiori che profumeranno le vostre notti primaverili con ritmi diversi, con voci diverse, con contaminazioni fra stili, ma sempre jazz e blues, la musica dell’anima.
Una curiosità: il titolo dell’album non è nato come prosecuzione logica di Autunm Leaves, ma dalla fotografia straordinaria di un’orchidea realizzata da Paolo Dalprato, un bravo e sensibile fotografo, un artista, un’immagine di pura poesia, ed è quella che vedete nella copertina dell’album.

Interessanti rimandi all’eleganza di Pat Metheny in questo brano e se non avete mai ascoltato una Breath Guitar, questa è l’occasione. Alberto è uno dei rari musicisti che compone per questo particolare e futuristico strumento che dona alle sue composizioni una dimensione onirica e raffinata.
Amico di vecchia data, ma per la prima volta in Jazz Friends, Yvalain accompagnato dalla voce di Gene O’Neill

in un atmosfera soft e rilassante, vagamente malinconica, Jorge e Manuel danno vita ad un duetto accompagnato dal morbido piano di Jorge.
Roberto Daglio – Simple doo woop blues (IT)
Sfido chiunque a riconoscere in queste note il Jazz di Roberto Daglio, di cui rimane però la gioiosità, e la piacevolezza, oltre naturalmente ad una grande tecnica . Ma …. siamo di fronte al ritorno della Pantera Rosa ?
PeerGynT LoboGris – The Walk of Lovers (ES)
Da ascoltare assolutamente al chiar di luna, e, come dice il titolo, dedicato agli innamorati di primavera. Ma, con una chitarra così, chi non si innamorerebbe?
Cosoid 3.5 – Rolling & Smoking (IT)
Slide Guitar, armonica, il solito sigaro e l’immancabile grappa, e il blues è servito. Un grande blues.
Liquid Frame – Waves (IT)
Chiudiamo l’album persi fra le stelle, ogni brano di Liquid Frame è un viaggio, un cammino nel sogno, lasciatevi cullare.
Anche questa volta Paolo Folzini (Liquid Frame) ha curato tutta la parte tecnica della produzione dell’album come sound engineer e credo che il risultato sia ben percepibile nella qualità audio. Grazie Paolo!

Il nuovo album di Jazz Friends arriva con Babbo Natale, giusto in tempo per metterlo sotto il vostro albero. E’ il nostro regalo per voi.
Ascoltatelo e regalatelo ai vostri amici, regalare musica è come donare uno scampolo di cielo. Complice lo spirito festivo, l’atmosfera generale dell’album è più lounge e rilassata, ma non mancano momenti di puro jazz classico, momenti di soave atmosfera natalizia e perché no, una spruzzata di jazz rock.
Potrete apprezzare inoltre due nuove, straordinarie, voci femminili, calde, sensuali, ammalianti… e non dico altro. A voi scoprirle. La novità di quest’anno è che il progetto è diventato open, non solo inviti ma anche la possibilità offerta a tutti gli artisti di proporre loro brani da inserire nell’album.
Fra i tanti pervenuti ne è stato selezionato uno particolarmente meritevole. L’esperienza, anche se faticosa, ci è piaciuta e la riproporremo anche per il prossimo album, riservando ai nuovi partecipanti uno spazio maggiore.
